In our research, we will explore ingredients that cause acne that is highly comedogenic, which means they tend to clog and block pores which ultimately form blackheads and whiteheads, and pimples.

You always remembered one of the most necessary steps in our skincare routine to prevent acne is exfoliation and the deep cleansing of clogged pores.

If you’re prone to breakouts, you probably have an arsenal of products to behave them, but not all are actually helpful. These are the 10 ingredients that cause acne that could be making your acne worse.

1) Silicones:

Silicones are often found in products like sunscreens, primers and much more. Some people think that its help creates a silky soft texture on your skin but it actually causes flare-ups. Items containing silicones layer on your face and can block your pores over time. This leads to your occasional breakouts and acne. Silicones are the ingredient in sunscreens that cause acne.

2) Alcohol:

Alcohol ingredients remove oil on your skin that is why your skin becomes irritated and dry. The reason some people use the product with alcohol is because it produces a mattifying effect for the skin, a fast and effective finish. Alcohol is a skincare product that causes acne.

If you have soft skin, I recommended don’t use products with alcohol because it might irritate your skin. If your skin has a dry,  it’s best to avoid this ingredient as it makes your skin much drier. These products actually enlarge your pores and cause breakouts but many people thought are effective for controlling oily skin.

3) Mineral Oil:

Mineral oils are highly comedogenic. It doesn’t give any hydration although it stops moisture loss from your skin. As it continues, your complexion is being masked and the skin condition worsens, produce pimple breakouts. It increases the blackhead and whiteheads.

It is highly toxic does not give any benefit to your skin. Mineral oil can harsh product that cause acne.

4) Coconut oil:

It damages oily acne-prone skin but it might help to treat the acne.  It clogs up the pores and increases the number of breakouts. If your oily skin coconut oil and other oil are a bad idea. The fragrance has the power to irritate the skin and might be the reason for allergies as well. It could be the reason for the inflamed pimples and can make your skin more sensitive and dull.

6) Isopropyl Myristate:

Many like to use items with this ingredient because of the silky finish that it process, but behold of the consequences in the long run. Isopropyl myristate is a cosmetic product that cause acne.

7) Parabens:

Parabens are used to increase the shelf life of the products, and they inhibit the growth of fungi,  bacteria, and molds. But, it can cause acne breakouts and skin inflammation. They are considered to be highly toxic and have the capability to disrupt the hormones thereby, causing more breakouts.

Exfoliating beads do not cause acne  but, if you are having already acne, then it may increase the occurrence. They can break up the cystic pimple and lead to the bacterial infection. Aside from this, if the exfoliating beads are too harsh, they can ultimately contribute to the occurrence of acne. So, make sure to avoid using products that contain exfoliating beads.

9) Salicylic acid:

Salicylic acid may be too harsh on acne for some people. It can be used in small doses as spot treatments. Salicylic acid is makeup ingredients that cause acne. So, avoid from salicylic acid.

10) Lauric Acid:

This is one fatty acid we don’t want in our lives, but it’s common in many well-known cosmetics and skin products. Keep in mind, while lauric acid is found on the comedogenic scale, it’s also found in coconut oil, organic coconut oil is beneficial for your body.

So before you deduce that lauric acid is the culprit, make sure there are no other factors like hormonal imbalance or poor diet contributing to flare-ups.
